I am an independent RINGANA partner, and I share my thoughts on health, environmental protection, and a healthy future for our children.

Today I’d like to give you an overview of a topic that’s been on my mind for a long time: toxins in everyday products and how safe they really are when we take a closer look.

Who’s behind this blog?

I’m Thomas, a father and someone who places a high priority on a healthy lifestyle free of toxic ingredients and indoor pollutants. This blog was born out of that very conviction – and it will continue to evolve, because the issues that concern us show no signs of diminishing: persistent toxins, microplastics, and constant exposure to Wi-Fi in our daily lives. These are questions that many families are grappling with today.

The Invisible Remnants of Our Consumption

Anyone who has ever seen images of trash accumulating in our oceans quickly realizes this: What we produce and consume doesn’t simply disappear. It accumulates – in the oceans, in the soil, and ultimately within us as well.

Perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a good example of this. These substances are so named because they hardly break down in nature and can accumulate in the environment and in organisms over decades. They’re often found where you wouldn’t expect them: in packaging, cosmetics, or coated everyday items.

Microplastics are another issue that is increasingly coming into focus. They are created when larger pieces of plastic break down, as well as through cosmetic products that contain solid plastic particles, and ultimately find their way back into our food chain via waterways.

Electromagnetic radiation, such as that from constantly running Wi-Fi, is an issue that concerns many people and is subject to varying opinions. The scientific evidence regarding health effects at typical household radiation levels is not yet conclusive – yet many families choose, as a precaution, to consciously reduce their exposure, for example by turning off their router at night.

Why This Is Especially Important for Families

Our children are about to enter their teenage years, and questions like these are on my mind more and more: What do we actually want to leave behind? What do we want to pass on to our children – not just in terms of values, but also in terms of an environment where they can grow up healthy?

The good news: We’re not helpless in the face of these developments. Through our consumption habits alone, we can make a difference—for ourselves and, to some extent, for the world we’ll leave behind for our children.

Why I Trust Ringana

That’s exactly why I’ve decided to introduce Ringana’s products to you on this blog. Here’s what convinces me:

  • Sustainable manufacturing: The products are made in an environmentally friendly way.
  • Freshness over preservatives: They stay very close to their original, natural ingredients without relying on unnecessary additives.
  • Reuse concept: Ringana takes a reuse approach to packaging – I’ll discuss this in more detail in one of my next blog posts. (Update: Feel free to read more about the Ringana concept here)

For me, this rounds out a bigger picture that aligns with my beliefs: health and environmental awareness go hand in hand.

What You Can Do

You don’t have to turn your whole life upside down overnight. Even small, conscious steps can make a difference:

  • Read the ingredient lists on cosmetics and personal care products more carefully
  • Opt for sustainable and long-lasting alternatives when making new purchases
  • Reduce plastic packaging wherever possible
  • Learn about manufacturers’ reuse and recycling programs

Conclusion

Toxic substances in our everyday lives are no longer a niche topic—they affect us all, and our children in particular will feel the consequences of our current consumption habits for a long time to come. This makes it all the more important to be mindful and, wherever possible, to choose sustainable alternatives. Feel free to check back in the coming weeks—I’ll continue to share information on topics, products, and concepts that can help us in this effort.

Yours, Thomas
